Death Note is bigger than ever thanks to Netflix’s recent take on the series, but one kid knows her God of Death game is stronger than most others. After all, Meng Meng can pull of Ryuk’s look and rock it like none other.

Earlier this year, the cosplay-loving child shared her most recent look online with fans. The website Curazy documented Meng Meng’s shinigami costume that she did with her family (via Kotaku). The girl’s younger sibling also got in on the action by dressing up as an adorable, toddling version of L.
If the girl looks familiar to you, then you may know Meng Meng for her other anime cosplays. In the past, the girl became an Internet sensation after her Spirited Away look went viral. Back in 2016, the young girl dressed up as No Face from the Hayao Miyazaki classic for her pre-school’s annual Halloween costume. Meng Meng made millions smile with her DIY look, and the three-year-old has been working the cosplay circuit ever sense.
The girl’s costume looks pretty accurate to Death Note‘s original take on Ryuk. The god’s feathery outfit looks admittedly adorable on Meng Meng, and the girl’s verified Facebook page shows her holding apples to complete the Death God’s fierce look. Oh, and her eye makeup can only be described as on-point. Maybe Netflix should call this kid up if they ever choose to make a chibi-fied version of Death Note in the future? You know, if they can somehow tailor the show to not give kids nightmares…
If you want to know more about Netflix’s more adult take on the series, then you can check out the description of it live-action film below:
What if you had the power to decide who lives and who dies? We suggest you obey the rules. Based on the famous Japanese manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, Death Note follows a high school student who comes across a supernatural notebook, realizing it holds within it a great power; if the owner inscribes someone’s name into it while picturing their face, he or she will die. Intoxicated with his new godlike abilities, the young man begins to kill those he deems unworthy of life.
