The first Dragon Ball Run is being planned by Toei Animation, Tokyo Gets, and Sports One. The event is being tested in Japan first before decisions are made on its international locations. The first run is set to take place in Tokyo at Makuhari Seaside Park come September 10. The second run will then be held in Nagoya at Rinku Beach on September 23.

As for the run’s details, there will be plenty to do at the event aside from running. Fans can sign up to run a 3 km marathon together, and runners will be given matching Dragon Ball t-shirts to don during the run. The event is open to participants of all ages, and there will be activities to do for those who aren’t up to sprint. There will be augmented-reality photo booths set up for fans, and you can win various Dragon Ball prizes at local booths. The official run will also see Dragon Ball voice actors attend, so fans will be able to hear Yamcha cheer them on. Just, don’t bet on Vegeta being the hip-hip-hooray kind of guy.

The fee to enter the race is about $60 for adults while children cost half that. For more details, you can check out the run’s official website here.

The synopsis of Dragon Ball Super‘s current saga can be read below:

“According to an invitation that Goku gets, Zen-Oh (Omni King) is starting a martial arts tournament between all the universes called “Chikara no Taikai” (Tournament of Power). But it is the beginning of universal destruction. Something awaits the winners and losers of this tournament. What will become of this fierce team battle between each universe’s elite warriors?”

Dragon Ball Super‘s “Universal Survival” saga is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami will begin airing the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
