If there’s one thing the anime fandom likes, it is cosplay. Dragon Ball characters are some of the most popular heroes to dress up as, but one fan took his Master Roshi to an entirely new level at Comic Market this summer.

Tokyo’s annual anime convention got started earlier this month, and fans there got to witness the best Dragon Ball cosplay of 2017. Taichi Shimizu took a break from his rigorous work as a body builder to attend the event, and he did so dressed up as Master Roshi in his Max Power form.

As you can see below, fans went nuts over Shimizu’s on-point cosplay. The athlete, who has previously dressed up as Zangief at conventions, went so far as to shave his eyebrows for his Dragon Ball cosplay. Dressed in loose blue plants, the body builder’s insane physique can be seen in full-force without a shirt. Shimizu’s muscles make the look while his sunglasses and glue-on beard complete the look.

If you are not familiar with Roshi’s Max Power transformation, then you should know Shimizu is the spitting image of it. The power-up is one that’s unique to Master Roshi. The form dramatically changes the hero’s frail body into a massive hulking frame of muscles. Master Roshi first used the form back in Dragon Ball when he helped put out the spreading fires on Fire Mountain, and the hero used it most recently in Dragon Ball Super against a slew of warriors from Universe 4.

It’s not clear whether Shimizu has the same sort of powers as Roshi does but fans don’t want to find out. The dedicated cosplayer may look jolly enough, but no one wants to get on the wrong end of someone in their Max Power state.

Say what you will, but don’t say this cosplayer isn’t a living anime character come to life.

Shimizu has got down his Kamehameha stance, and fans are only mildly afraid the fan knows how to summon enough Ki to make the move happen.

If this cosplayer isn’t the definition of Dragon Ball goals, then who is?

Could it be that this cosplayer is even MORE muscular than Roshi’s Max Power state? Shimizu appears to be reaching that threshold.
