Over on Dragon Ball Super, it looks like the multiverse’s higher-ups are about to get featured in a big way. The on-going ‘Universal Survival’ arc is getting ready to kick into high gear, and it will put a slew of Kaioshin and Gods of Destruction in danger. Thanks to the Omni-Kings, a massive martial arts tournament will soon pit the multiverse against itself. The universes who leave the tournament as losers will see their worlds destroyed, and the Gods of Destruction will be axed along with them.

Now, fans are learning a bit more about the multiverse’s various Kaioshin and Gods. The official website for Dragon Ball Super recently posted new character profiles for fans, and it gives an in-depth look at some favorite fighters.
When the ‘Universal Survival’ arc got underway, fans were immediately drawn to two characters from Universe 11. The anime highlighted the world’s God of Destruction and Angel as the two reminded many of DC Comics’ Joker and Harley Quinn However, it seems the characters have very little in common with the duo.
Vermoud seems to be anything but a villain. Unlike the Joker, the God of Destruction is said to “not abide evil” and that the work of his universe’s fighters “send his heart a flutter.”
As for his attendant, Marcarita is the one who keeps Vermoud in line. The character is said to “always give candid advice” to her universe’s Kaioshin and God. The character is also said to have a distinct way of speaking, so fans will see if she ever says “Puddin’” in an upcoming conversation.

Dragon Ball Super‘s”Universal Survival” saga is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami will begin airing the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.

Universe 4 Kaiลshin Kuru (ใฏใซ) is played by Tomomichi Nishimura. He is “haughty, [and] his pride as a god is extraordinarily high.”

Universe 5 Kaiลshin Oguma (ใชใฐใ) is played by Megumi Urawa. They are “a gentle god who values a balance of knowledge and power.”
