‘Dragon Ball Super’ Recap With Spoilers: Episodes 109-110

The episode begins with Gohan battle against a Yardrat warrior and firing off a massive energy blast towards his enemies. It acts as a recap.

Goku is then seen fighting against Ribrianne. The lovely warrior tells Goku that his powers won’t work against her because love is eternal. Goku seems wary of the fighter and gets into a fighting stance. Ribrianne then begans a counter against Goku and powers up into a pink aura. Goku is still in his base form, but he tells the girl she has plenty of power. The girl then asks Goku what he will use the Super Dragon Balls to wish for, and she says she will use the items to turn her into a god, a goddess of love who is loved by mortals.

Goku thinks it’s an interesting objective, but the hero says he’s not sure what he will wish for. The Saiyan says he may use it for Chichi or perhaps to fight someone is who stronger than him. Ribrianne says she can fulfill the latter request, and she then powers up into a new form. A massive heart envelops the warrior and Ribrianne sprouts butterfly wings to become Super Ribrianne. Goku says he feels amazing power from her, but he is able to dodge each of her energy-filled love arrows. Eventually, Goku gets the upperhand and sends Ribrianne flying through several boulders. When she lands, she does so at the feet of Jiren, and she freaks out.

Jiren does not answer her yells and looks only to Goku with a very intense expression. Goku looks at the fighter while surrounded in his SSB aura before he powers down. The two have a stare-down, and the gods of Universe 11 telepathically tell Jiren to fight Goku. “Start by crushing Son Goku. You can ignore the weaklings.”

Jiren starts to unleash his ki, and the entire arena shakes with it. All of the other fighters are stunned by his power, and Freeza seems lighthearted about his comrades fate. Toppo gives Jiren a bit of encouragement. Goku comes down to meet Jiren, and the Saiyan asks if the Pride Trooper has decided to fight. Jiren lets out a short blast of ki, and Beerus looks totally stunned by the simple move’s insane power.

Zeno is beyond excited, but what else is new?

Goku seems taken back by the power of Jiren, and the Universe 11 warrior says nothing. Goku begins to sweat and then blasts a massive energy beam. Jiren keeps the blast away by using his sheer energy to form a wall. The kai ask why Goku won’t power into his SSB form, but Krillin says it is because he is testing Jiren’s true strength by measures. The fighter says Goku wnts to provoke Jiren into fighting at full power.

When Goku goes SSG, Jiren moves but he just lifts a hand. Jiren is able to dodge each of the hits with a single finger. Jiren won’t even try because he hasn’t seen Goku go to his top strength.

Part 2

When Goku finally goes SSB, the hero is shown looking rather terse. The gods are excited, but the Belmod says it is useless. Goku will lose. The Kai then says if Jiren beats Goku at his most powerful, then then rest of the warriors in the event will be too scared to fight back against the Universe 11 warrior.

Belmod says Jiren will never lose against a warrior no matter how powerful. The pair are then seen standing off against one another quietly before Goku powers up. The pair take part in an intense battle of hand-to-hand combat. Jiren takes a fool out of Goku when the Saiyan charges his Kaio-Ken in SSB. Jiren throws the hero into the ground and through tons of boulders before they take to the air. Goku is seen panting as Jiren then steps on Goku, making him submit. Jiren then grabs Goku by the hair and lands a punch before firing an energy blast at point-blank. The Pride Trooper looks nonplussed, but then Goku comes back and asks where he is going.

Goku then levels up his Kaio-Ken once more and launches ahead. Jiren uses some ocular power to knock him out of the form instantly. Vegeta wasn’t able to see what happened and praises Jiren for being so ridiculous. Roshi says he is beyond belief, and the others wonder if Goku is done for. Krillin says Goku could win if he maxes out his Kaio-Ken, but then Whis says the hero is already using that.

Part 3

Goku admits his situation is bad. He falls out of SSB. The Saiyan admits Jiren is very strong and then says he will show his trump card, a Spirit Bomb. Krillin admits Goku had to go out of the SSB mode in order to gather the right amount of energy. All of Universe 7 lends their energy and Freeza says he only has bad memories of it. He lends his energy anyways, but Vegeta says he won’t do that. Goku says it will take too long to gain the energy, and Jiren says he will wait because he wants Goku to come at him with all his strength.

The Universe 11 warriors think the fighter will take the attack and blow it away, wounding the entire team. Vegeta then stops Ribrianne from attacking Goku from behind, and even the outed Universe 7 warriors add their strength. The rest of the gods are interested to see the Spirit Bomb be used. The attack is finally charged, and Jiren doesn’t seem phased by it.

Goku throws the attack, and it reaches Jiren. However, it doesn’t impact. Jiren is able to push the Spirit Bomb back with one hand, and Piccolo freaks out. The two fighters are stuck in a battle of wills as Goku swears, going SSB to push the attack back. Jiren then uses two hands to push the Spirit Bomb away, and Goku levels back into his Kaio-Ken forms for added help. Jiren does not look upset by the fight, but Goku is straining hard. Jiren finally yells when Goku goes max Kaio-Ken, and the Spirit Bomb is pushed into Goku. The spectators freak out, and Vegeta even tells Goku he’s got to push the attack back. With a final shout, the Spirit Bomb overtakes Goku and attacks him to the delight of Zeno who starts screaming.

Krillin is stunned that Goku’s trump card was turned around on him. Roshi is beyond stunned. Everyone thinks Goku is dead, and Universe 11 is happy to see the hero gone as it will ruin his team’s spirit. Jiren lets his arms down after Goku pushes the Spirit Bomb away from him, but Jiren appears to be holding it in place with his glare alone. The Spirit Bomb then shrinks as it tries to explode, and Goku still pushes against it. The gods note Goku is at the limits of his power while Jiren is full of power, and Whis says Jiren has perhaps surpassed the level of a god of destruction. Belmod tells his warrior to keep going.

Despite his best efforts, the condensed Spirit Bomb explodes. Goku is seen in the middle of its explosion as he gain pupil-less eyes. Jiren is said to be the winner by Toppo.

Part 4

The explosion puts a massive hold in the arena. Zeno is super excited. The Grand Priest says he is glad the arena held up. Gohan is stunned by his father’s defeat as Jiren is still standing. Beerus is seen standing in fear, and everyone wonders if Goku really did die by being vaporized. They ask if Jiren should be displaced if that is the case for breaking a rule, and Vados says that is not the case. Goku’s own attack would have killed him so Jiren would not get a penalty. The gods of Universe 11 say it is only a matter of time until Universe 7 is taken out.

The rest of the universes admit they are ready to fight. Champa tells Universe 6 to get a move on. In the stands, Beerus clenches his fist as Zeno prepares to eliminate Goku. However, the arena begins to shake before that can happen. Rubble begins to levitate because of a sheer flow of power. No one knows what is happening, but Krillin says it is obvious. It is Goku.

A massive pillar of light appears in the middle of the crater Goku’s bomb formed. Literally everyone looks stunned. Goku is show in silhouette as Jiren walks forward. He sees Goku standing in the middle of the crater after having taken on a new form. It is a white-blue and gives Goku grey eyes.

Part 5

Zeno is excited to see that Goku is alive. They call him intense. Toppo and Dypso look shocked to see him. Universe 7 notes something is different about Goku and that he didn’t survive the fight out of dumb luck. Everyone says they have never seen Goku in this form before. When Goku moves, he moves quicker than anyone can see and Jiren has issues keeping up. The pair appear to be predicting each other’s movements. When Jiren tries to land a hit, Goku dodges as if he read Jiren’s mind. He managed to actually land a hit on Jiren, and Piccolo notes the form is more powerful than SSB.

Piccolo and Gohan says Goku is not just dodging. Universe 11 teams up on Goku to take him out, but Goku predicts their hits and grabs them. They toss him away, and Whis is seen looking very pensive. Toppo fires a Justice Flash – lots of them – and Goku just walks away from them as if he were dodging. Jiren tells Toppo to back off. Goku walks forward, and Jiren uses his hits to fight back. Goku then uses his attacks to push back against Jiren’s invisible barrier, but even the Universe 11 warrior is pushed back. No one can tell who is at the advantage here.

The gods of Universe 11 are freaking out over Goku’s sudden explosion in strength. Zeno repeats how awesome Goku is, but they do not understand why. Whis says something quite wonderful may be happening, and Beerus looked stunned. He says Goku has learned Ultra Instinct, a power of a god to fight without movement and not think while battling. They say the form isn’t even one gods can keep up for long while fighting and is very hard to master.

Freeza is then shown smirking.

Part 6

Zeno notes that everyone seems surprised by Goku’s power. The Grand Priest says it is too early to draw conclusions just yet. Whis looks amazed, but Beerus seems upset. Beerus doesn’t get why this happened so quick, but Whis says it has to do with the Spirit Bomb. Despite not absorbing the power, Whis says the energy of the bomb must be acting as a source of power for Goku. In the bomb’s explosion, the clash of power between the bomb and his rage must have broken through the limit Goku has been using. However, Whis says he’s note sure why Goku is covered in a white-blue aura.

Jiren and Goku are seen fighting at insane speeds; It starts to cause lightning for some reason. Goku begins to phase out of the form as his pupils change colors. He lands a kick to Jiren and then blasts the fighter with an energy blast. He then rockets to Jiren with a massive yell, and the power causes another explosion. Jiren is left standing as he counters, and he says Saiyans are interesting. He blasts Goku away with a hit, and the gods of Universe 11 seem happy that Goku only had that power temporarily.

Hit then intercepts Jiren, hoping to take him out unaware. It does not work. Hit says he is working by fighting Jiren.

Vegeta questions Goku, asking what just happened. The hero says he isn’t sure. Vegeta then turns to fight Ribrianne, but Goku disappears. Vegeta does not know where he went. The narrator asks if Goku can reach the state that even gods cannot hit.

The episode ends with Goku being transported by Freeza. The villain has the Saiyan pinned with an energy blast at point-blank range. The villain is seen smirking, and Freeza says it brings back memories to what happened on Namek.
