If you are ready to see Goku go Super Saiyan, then raise your hand! Since the newest arc of Dragon Ball Super kicked off, fans have been waiting to see the show’s lead get into the ring. So far, a slew of exhibition matches have been held for heroes like Mr. Buu and Gohan, but Goku has stayed firmly to the side. Now, that is all about to change. On Saturday, Goku will get his chance to go head-to-head against the strongest warrior of Universe 9, and the Saiyan will find the fighter to be a very worthy opponent.

After last week’s episode of Dragon Ball Super aired, a preview for this week’s installment was released. The short preview gives a glimpse at Goku’s fight with Bergamo, and the two warriors look ready to battle. In one shot, fans can see Goku in his Super Saiyan state as he lands a powerful kick against Bergamo’s gigantic form. Another scene shows the wolfish warrior cackling maniacally with Goku looking less-than-pleased. And, interestingly enough, the Kai of Universe 7 are showing gaping at the event’s arena with a stunned expression. If the fight manages to shock Beerus, then fans feel confident something good much happen.
Goku’s match with Bergamo will be the final match-up for the Omni-Kings’ exhibition trials. As the arc moves forward, the rest of the universes will be pitted against one another in a high-stakes tournament which could end with their homes being obliterated along with their God of Destruction.
In a new issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, a synopsis for this week’s Dragon Ball Super episode was released. You can read it below:
“The Omni-Present Match comes to a head! Does Goku have a shot at victory?! The final battle of the Omni-Present Match is Goku vs Bergamo! Bergamo uses some slick talking to get the stadium on Universe 4’s side, turning them completely against Goku and the gang! As for the saga’s start date, the new arc premiered on February 5, 2017. The “Universal Survival” saga is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami will begin airing the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
