It looks like the Tournament of Power is finally about to begin on Dragon Ball Super, and no one is more hyped than Son Goku himself. The Saiyan has been looking forward to the meet-up since the ‘Universal Survival’ arc got underway, but the hero may regret his excitement soon enough. A new episode synopsis for Dragon Ball Super hints Goku is about to be put in a rather tight pinch soon.

Thanks to Weekly Shonen Jump, the first synopsis for Dragon Ball Super‘s 98th episode has dropped. Noted Dragon Ball guru Todd Blankenship was able to translate the synopsis for “Oh, All In Vain! The Universes Despair!!” which can be read below:
“Immediately in a tight spot?! Universe 7 is fenced in! Right as the “Tournament of Power” begins, the Universe 7 team is hit by a concentrated attack from the other universes! Can they escape from this early tight spot…?!
Goku This Week: fighting 1-on-8! Cut off from his allies, Goku is surrounded by eight tough opponents from other universes. But even in this situation, Goku smiles calmly?! The fight quickly heats up!”
Looking at the synopsis, fans will immediately hone in on the second paragraph. The description says that Goku will be forced into a 1-on-8 fight after being separated from the rest of his team. Fans have known for time the Dragon Ball multiverse was less-than-pleased with Goku, and it seems like they are about to go after their revenge.

Of course, it doesn’t seem likely that the universes will get one over Goku. Universe 7 may be one of the event’s lowest-ranking universes, but that is not necessarily a reflection of its fighters’ strength. Goku is a formidable opponent on even his worst day, and the episode’s title does hint that the universes have been working towards something in vain. It looks like that ‘thing’ will be one hugely failed attempt at revenge.

But it is the beginning of universal destruction. Something awaits the winners and losers of this tournament. What will become of this fierce team battle between each universe’s elite warriors?”
