FUNimation has updated it's online shop to show the listings for the new Dragon Ball Z Kai home release. The store listed both the Blu-Ray and DVD versions of the home video with information on both. We not only got a first look at the packaging but also got an official release date, for the home videos.

Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters: Part Two will be coming to stores on May 23, 2017. The DVD will be $49.98 MSRP, and the Blu-Ray will be $54.98 MSRP. The package will feature a three-disc set which will cover episodes 122-144. This will be the international cut of the story arc, which is much longer and less condensed that the original Japanese broadcast version. It will also come with extras such as a commentary for episode 131, and a creditless opening and end theme.

The Final Chapters: Part Two are described as FUNimation the following below:

"As Goku and Vegeta land blow after blow in their brutal duel, an enormous amount of energy is transferred to Majin Buu. And despite Gohan's valiant efforts, the monster reaches full power faster than anyone could have predicted. With the ancient evil awakened and free to wreak havoc across the planet, the Z Fighters must give everything they've got to put Buu back to bed for good."

Dragon Ball Z Kai is the high definition revised version of the original Dragon Ball Z series. The series was produced to commemorate the original series' 20th anniversary. The show was edited to follow the original story in the manga more closely than than unedited Dragon Ball Z series. Kai minimized the filler, or material that had no impact to the story.

The home release will feature an English dub as well as the original Japanese with English Subs. The English dub of the Buu story arc from Dragon Ball Kai was debuted on Cartoon Network just last month.

Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters: Part two is available for preorder now, and will be available on May 23, 2017 on FUNimation
