Hunter x Hunter fans have heard the term hiatus a lot over the years, with 2017 being no exception. Creator Yoshihiro Togashi has once again put the series on hiatus, however; the series will return in the next couple of months. Although, I do understand why some fans are sceptical that the hiatus will only be a quick one, as they have seen it all before. However, Togashi has released a brief sketch of Hunter x Hunter favorites in Gon and Killua fused together.

This image that Togashi has released on Twitter raises the hopes of Hunter x Hunter fans, as that means the manga illustrator has continued to work on the series.
Yoshihiro Togashi’s manga career began in 1986, with his work on Weekly Shonen Jump beginning in 1989. Since starting the Hunter x Hunter series, the manga has had a number of hiatuses, with the series finally returning briefly earlier this year. The longest hiatus period lasted almost two-years, from 2014 to 2016 due to Togashi’s back problems. In addition, that hiatus was only meant to last two weeks and that is why fans are a little nervous. However, this new sketch that Toagshi released does raise the hopes of Hunter x Hunter fans, as it indicates that he is healthy and at a minimum still working on the Hunter x Hunter series.
You can read Viz Media’s synopsis of Hunter x Hunter below:
“Hunters are a special breed, dedicated to tracking down treasures, magical beasts and even other people. But such pursuits require a license, and less than one in a hundred thousand can pass the grueling qualification exam. Those who do pass gain access to restricted areas, amazing stores of information and the right to call themselves “Hunters.” Can Gon, a country boy, follow his father and join their ranks?”
