Established in 2011, the Japanese animation studio MAPPA quickly gained recognition thanks to its beloved sports anime, Yuri on Ice, and the tragic series, Banana Fish. Following the unexpected hits, MAPPA became globally renowned after producing acclaimed shows such as Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and more. There’s no doubt that Jujutsu Kaisen is the most successful MAPPA series, but the studio also has a record of several incredible series and films that never received global recognition like these mainstream anime. As fans await updates on Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4, the animation studio confirmed an event lineup announcement to commemorate its 15th anniversary on June 19th, 2026.

The animation studio already confirmed dropping new updates on not just Jujutsu Kaisen, but also on Chainsaw Man, Oblivion Battery, and more sequels. However, that’s not where the event will end. The official X handle of the studio also teased a “fresh announcement” during the event. We can expect a brand new project from the studio since the implication is quite clear. With less than a week before the event, the anticipation regarding the studio’s exciting projects grows higher.
MAPPA Has Special Plans For Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4
It’s no surprise that the biggest highlight of the event is the globally famous Jujutsu Kaisen. MAPPA will hold a Jujutsu Talk Special Edition, which will be divided into two parts. Junya Enoki, the voice behind Yuji Itadori, and Megumi Ogata, who voices Yuta Okkotsu, will be present during the event. We can expect a first look at the upcoming season or even a release window. Additionally, the second part will take place after the announcement event concludes, which is why it will stream on the YouTube channel of TOHO animation.
The talk show will also be available as audio podcast episodes on Spotify, but only in Japanese. MAPPA has been planning its anniversary event for a while now. In March this year, the animation studio launched an anniversary celebration website with a new logo to hype fans for what’s to come. Furthermore, MAPPA will also hold an exhibition in several cities across Japan after the event. The celebration won’t be over until a range of merchandise based on newly drawn illustrations is also released.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 Will Be More Intense Than Ever
Fans have high expectations for the anime’s fourth season, which is all set to wrap up the Culling Game Arc. The first part already revealed the intensity of the deathly battle royale, but the most exciting fights will be featured in the upcoming season. As the second final arc of the story, it also sets up the battle against Ryomen Sukuna after a major plot twist.
Furthermore, the sorcerers have learned how to free Satoru Gojo from the Prison Realm, but it’s not going to be easy with so many obstacles in their way. The upcoming season will also reveal what Sukuna has been scheming since the first season, and it’s going to change the story forever.
