Naruto Fans Fawn Over Sakura & Sasuke With A Fake Wedding Advert

When it comes to Naruto, there are plenty of fans who don’t particularly care about the show’s various couples. For those fans, they don’t care whether Naruto gets married or not. But, for many others, they are very invested in the show’s ships – and the fans continue to celebrate their favorite love stories. While some longtime fans were left disappointed by Naruto’s end-game couples, plenty of others were happy to see Naruto marry Hinata while Sasuke and Sakura got together. And, now, Japanese fans have taken their love of ‘SasuSaku’ to a whole new level.

Thanks to Reddit, anime fans have learned how intensely fans of the couple are going to wish them well. This month will mark the end of Naruto Shippuden as the anime wraps before Boruto: Naruto Next Generations airs. The final episode will highlight Naruto’s wedding to Hinata, but SasaSaku fans will not be outdone by the other couple. So, of course, a slew of Japanese fans banded together and bought out a fake newspaper advert to highlight Sakura’s marriage to Sasuke.

The elaborate newspaper shows stylized fan-art of both Sakura and Sasuke along with a few wedding photos. The couple are shown in traditional Japanese wedding attire, and it looks like Naruto even gave a ‘quote’ to the newspaper about the nuptials.

Of course, the actual Naruto franchise did not bother with the pair’s marriage. The creator of Naruto has often said Sakura’s love for Sasuke came as an afterthought to him, but the couple is considered canon. After the Fourth Ninja War ended, Sasuke reconciled with Konoha and left the village to atone for his sins and scout information. During his travels, the ninja would return to the village occasionally, and Sakura must have gotten to him during those breaks.

By the time Boruto’s generation comes up to inherit Konoha’s will, Sakura and Sasuke are parents to their only child Sarada. The girl shares his father’s bloodline limit, but she has all the smarts and strength of her mom. Sarada even takes up Naruto’s dream to become a future Hokage, and she is more than a bit flustered when Boruto offers to help her take on the role. After all, the young Uzumaki looks up to Sasuke and his ninja way.

So, who knows? In the future, the Naruto franchise might even feature a canon wedding of the Uzumaki/Uchiha variety. Just, don’t tell Naruto or Sasuke that.
