‘One Piece’s Animates Luffy’s New Gear Fourth Form

One Piece debuted one last episode ahead of its upcoming anime special, and it was a doozy. The release saw Luffy wrap his battle with Charlotte Cracker, but the fight couldn’t end before the captain introduced a new Gear Fourth form.

Fans have been busy watching Luffy’s drawn-out battle with Cracker. The fight passed into its eleventh hour, leaving Cracker thoroughly frustrated with the Straw Hat captain. The villain was confused as to why Luffy was eating his biscuit soldiers, but the reason became clear soon enough.

When Cracker thought Luffy had become too engorged to move, the hero made a surprise revelation. The hero converted his metabolism into fast-acting energy, and he entered a new Gear Fourth form called Tankman. The technique was specifically referenced as the ‘Full Version,’ so fans can only imagine what the Gear Fourth form may look like at its base.

Cracker was impressed with Luffy’s height once he used Gear Fourth, but he mocked the hero’s size. The fighter tried to strike Luffy with his sword, but the blade could not pierce the Tankman form. Cracker was then sucked into Luffy’s body before the hero spit him out with a Gomu Gomu no Cannonball. The last fans saw Cracker, the baddie was sent flying towards Sweet City whilst knocked unconscious.

If you are not familiar with Luffy’s Gear Fourth, then you have a bit to catch up on. The technique was first introduced when Luffy fought Donquixote Doflamingo after the captain developed it on Rusukaina. Luffy enters the form by coating his arms with Busoshoku Haki and blowing air into his rubberized body. For Gear Fourth, Luffy targets the air pressure into his muscles to give him compressed strength. The Haki hardens Luffy’s body, and the attack focuses much of its power within the hero’s torso.
