Warning: This article contains spoilers from the One Piece manga! The Egghead Incident Arc in One Piece‘s anime feels longer than ever due to the six-month hiatus in the middle of the major fight. After defeating Kaido and Big Mom in Wano, the Straw Hat Pirates part ways with their allied pirates and Samurai. They continue their journey in the New World and save Jewelry Bonney from drowning before arriving on the futuristic island of Egghead, the laboratory of the world’s most genius scientist, Dr. Vegapunk. The series finally introduces Vegapunk after all these years, and even reveals how he has become a target for the World Government. Not only that, but the arc also reveals Bonney’s connection with Bartholomew Kuma and the former Warlord’s heartbreaking past.

The fight has become a lot more intense since the Egghead Incident Arc is nearing its end. After Admiral Kizaru, Saint Jaygarcia Saturn makes an unexpected arrival on the island. While Luffy and the others already had their hands full with the number of Marine soldiers and Saturn, the rest of the Five Elders also appeared using the same teleportation circle. They are just as powerful as Saturn with their strange, demonic forms that seem to be Zoan Devil Fruits. While the Egghead Incident Arc still has to feature Vegapunk’s broadcast, it won’t be long before the highly anticipated Elbaf Arc will begin in the anime.
When Will Elbaf Arc Commence in One Piece’s Anime?

One Piece’s anime has been adapting one chapter per episode for several years now. This pattern has remained unchanged even after the long anime hiatus, so considering that Toei continues to follow it, the Elbaf Arc might commence in Episode 1160. Although there’s been no official confirmation yet, One Piece Episode 1145 has adapted Chapter 1111, so based on the assumption, this is the most likely outcome. Additionally, the speculation is also based on the fact that none of the episodes in recent years have been fillers.
Ever since the Egghead Incident Arc began, One Piece has been taking recap breaks every few weeks instead of releasing fillers. The anime will likely commence the Elbaf Arc somewhere between February and April 2026. Additionally, the promotions for the upcoming arc have already begun since the official X handle of the series teased an Elbaf sneak peek during the NYCC 2025. The event will be held on October 10th and will share a lot of exciting updates about the anime.
What Will Happen in the Egghead Incident Arc Next?

The arc has long revealed that the crew’s next destination is Elbaf, but they keep getting delayed because of their enemies. Now that Luffy and the Giants have finally reunited, they will be making the journey together before long. The Egghead Incident Arc ends on a shocking note as Vegapunk’s broadcast unveils some of the major secrets of the Void Century. The Five Elders desperately tried to stop the broadcast but failed, and now the entire world has learned about the erased history and Joy Boy.
Some are confused, and some are laughing at Vegapunk, but there are also people who see this as a major turning point in this era. A war is brewing, and it’s going to change the world as we know it. Whether or not the change will be for the better isn’t something anyone can decide for now. The Straw Hats and their allies barely manage to push the Five Elders away before leaving for Elbaf and celebrating their triumph.
One Piece’s Elbaf Arc Has the Best Lore in the Story So Far

Fans have been awaiting the Elbaf Arc since the Little Garden Arc of the Alabasta Saga, which was released over two decades ago. And it’s safe to say that Elbaf is worth the wait since it has revealed several exciting lore, and it still hasn’t even commenced the main fight. While the beginning of the arc is slow because of a small detour caused by one of Hajrudin’s crew members, the story picks up the pace after Loki’s introduction, who is introduced as the Prince of Elbaf. The arc promises a lot of exciting lore related to the Sun God Nika and the past eras that were removed from the annals of history. The series introduces some of the Holy Knights for the first time and even explores Shanks’ bloodline and his connection to the Figarland family.
The Holy Knights also plan to conquer the country by whatever means necessary. However, the most shocking part is the ongoing backstory that reveals everything we needed to know about Rocks D. Xebec. The story is currently featuring the truth behind the God Valley Incident, something that the World Government has hidden from the public. There were many more characters present on the island, and the incident had a major impact on their lives. Although the flashback is still ongoing, it will not only reveal the truth behind the dreadful incident but also the real reason Harald died 14 years ago.
