Pokemon Horizons has been a wild departure for the pocket monster-catching anime series, leaving Ash Ketchum and Pikachu behind to explore the lives of two new trainers, Liko and Roy. Rather than simply wanting to be the best trainers in the world, the new protagonists are looking to dodge a nefarious organization while holding onto mysterious artifacts. With North America and Netflix still playing catch-up with the episodes airing in Japan, next month is slated to see a new Pokémon anime chapter arrive that has changed the game for Roy and Liko.

Pokemon: Rising Again will arrive in Japan on Halloween, October 31st, next month. As has been the case with much of the anime adaptation, Liko and Roy are preparing to visit a familiar locale from the Nintendo game series. Blueberry Academy has been highlighted as the new school that the pair will attend, with the academy originally introduced as a part of the Unova region in the latest game, Pokemon: Scarlet And Violet. Here’s how the official Pokemon social media account describes the next chapter while sharing a brand new trailer and poster for Rising Again, “The new stage is… Blueberry Academy! At a school for Pokémon trainers, Liko, Roy, Uruto, and Dot begin their battle training. “Rising Again” Arc Broadcast starts from October 31 (Friday)!”
Pokemon’s New Arrivals
One of the new characters that will be joining the series is Mathieu, voiced by Misaki Kuno, who shared words with Comic Natalie on joining the cast, “My name is Kuno Misaki, and I will be playing Mathieu. I grew up watching Pokémon as a child, so I’m really happy to be involved. The highlight of the show is seeing each character trying their best. I think you’ll enjoy a series of irreplaceable moments, as they stay strong and don’t give in to themselves, and overcome the pain of facing their own weaknesses together with their friends. This is a personal story, but the dubbing was so, so much fun…! During the dubbing, I was able to feel from the bottom of my heart once again the joy of acting that I felt when I first acted in front of a microphone at the age of 10. I would be more than happy if everyone who watches it enjoys it too. Thank you!”
Kuno won’t be alone when it comes to new additions to the cast, as voice actor Masahiko Tanaka will be taking on the role of Master Mayonnaise. Mayonnaise is an extremely colorful trainer, and Tanaka had some thoughts to share, “My name is Master Mayonnaise!
A slightly strange old man appears before Roy and Ult as they train for Mega Evolution. The two hate to lose and train competitively, but they seem to get along a little. Hey, aren’t you forgetting something important? This is the story of how the two meet and grow as they train for Mega Evolution. Look forward to it!”
