Get ready for Ash and his best friend Pikachu to take on the world again on your television screen, because Pokemon Sun & Moon is coming soon. With the new games, resurgence of the card game, and overall Pokemon hype comes the 20th season of the legendary anime. Pokemon The Series Sun & Moon will be coming as a regular on Disney XD on May 12, 2017, and to prepare for the release of the show, Disney released an awesome promo that you can check out above.

The promo shows off the beautiful new Alola region, with new characters, new Pokemon, and the Pokemon School. Fans also got a sneak peak of ash doing his Z Move and it looked epic to say the least. The new series will be returning to American television with two new episodes. If you are unfamiliar with Pokemon Sun & Moon, the show’s official site describes it below,

“What starts as a summer vacation in the tropical Alola region turns into the next exciting chapter in Ash Ketchum’s quest to become a Pokรฉmon Master! There’s plenty for Ash and Pikachu to explore in this sunny new region, with exciting new Pokรฉmon to discover and interesting people to learn from along the wayโ€”including the cool Professor Kukui and the fun-loving Samson Oak. More new faces will help guide Ash’s Alolan adventure, in the form of a group of skilled Trainersโ€”Kiawe, Lana, Mallow, and Sophoclesโ€”and a mysterious research assistant called Lillie. Frequent foes Team Rocket have also made the trip to Alola, looking to swipe some high-powered new Pokรฉmon. But they have some heavy competition on the villainy front: the ruffians of Team Skull, who delight in causing chaos and may have more sinister intentionsโ€ฆ”

Pokemon Sun & Moon was one of the fastest selling video game in Nintendo’s history. Selling more than 14.6 million copies worldwide since the end of December 2016. The games are the seventh generation of Pokemon games, and was released to celebrate the impressive 20th year anniversary of the franchise. The games received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with many calling them the best Pokemon games ever made.

Pokemon also announced that there will be a special movie presentation on Disney XD on Saturday May 13. There will be a special presentation at 5 p.m. of Pokemon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel.

The show will premier its English version on Disney XD on Friday, May 12 with two new episiodes. It will then show the third episode the next day, at 9 a.m. and will continue weekly on Saturday mornings at that time slot.
