The complete first season of Production I.G’s Psycho-Pass is available on iTunes for just $4.99.
The twenty-two episode season (550 minutes) was previously sold for $45.99 and individual episodes of the series are available for $2.99, making the five dollar deal a must buy for fans of the anime. The price is also decidedly cheaper than the season one Blu-ray set, retailing for $42.99 on Amazon.

The TV-MA dystopian crime thriller follows Akane Tsunemori, the newly assigned Inspector of Unit One of the Public Safety Bureau’s Criminal Investigation Division. The anime takes place in a future dystopian world where a program called The Sibyl System constantly monitors the population’s mental well-being, determining which individuals are most likely to become unbalance. The system’s assessment is called a ‘Psycho Pass,’ and any individual who should fail the test is immediately deemed a public threat. As such, it then becomes up to the Public Safety Bureau to apprehend these potential criminals may they be dead or alive.
Psycho-Pass comes from the mind of Gen Urobuchi (Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero) and the studio that brought audiences Ghost in the Shell and Guilty Crown. If five dollars is still too rich an investment, the anime is also available for streaming on Hulu and Crunchyroll.
In the future, thinking about a crime makes you guilty, and justice is dispensed from the barrel of a gun. Detectives work in teams made up of Enforcers and Inspectors. Enforcers take out the bad guys, and Inspectors make sure their partners don’t cross the line. The equalizer in the war on thugs is the Dominator, a weapon that can tell when citizens are about to turn criminal.
