If you've ever wanted to become part of Rurouni Kenshin, then you're about to get the chance to live your dream. The anime series is one of Japan's most beloved shonen stories, and Shueisha is now looking to make the anime more immersive. Over on Twitter, Shueisha revealed that Nobuhiro Watsuki's manga is getting a mobile game.

As for the game's title, it is a bit of a mouthful. Rurouni Kenshin, Meiji Kenkaku Romantan: Kengeki Kenran is set to hit both iOS and Android later this year. The game's site now offers pre-registration for the game which Bandai Namco Entertainment is developing.

Currently, little is known about the game and its format, but there is a tagline associated with the project. The phrase reads: "I will cut open a path to the future with my sword." The game is also assumed to deal with a new arc of Rurouni Kenshin which Watsuki created. The new story is set to be published this spring.

Leading up to the new story, Watsuki and his wife published a prequel to the manga arc titled Rurouni Kenshin Side Story: The Ex-Con Ashitarō. The story was published between November and December, and it tells the story of a man named Ashitaro Hasegawa. Having been imprisoned, the man is eventually released and runs into a couople his age who've been waiting a long time for Hasegawa's release.

If you are not familiar with Rurouni Kenshin, then you always have time to get to know the franchise. The story was born back in 1994 when Watsuki contracted its publication with Weekly Shonen Jump. Rurouni Kenshin tells the story of a former assassin named Kenshin Himura who has dedicated his life to atoning his past sins. Determined to leave senseless violence behind, Himura and his comrades travel Japan and stand up for oppressed underdogs everywhere.
