A couple of months ago, NTS Radio released this amazing one-hour mix playlist with songs from all the Studio Ghibli movies that released from 1986 untill 1992. These means songs from classics such as Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Grave of the Fireflies, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Only Yesterday, and Porco Rosso. Just listening to the play list makes you smile, imagining the different worlds that Miyazaki created to accompany the music in his films. When receiving overwhelming popularity on the mix, NTS Radio decided to release a second mix this week.
The Radio Ghibli Part 2 playlist featured songs for the movies that released from 1994-2001. This was during the rise of Studio Ghibli’s popularity, as this includes music from the movies such as Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Pom Poko, Whisper of the Heart, and My Neighbors the Yamadas.
These mixes are a perfect for those times when being stuck in traffic, bored at work/school, and when you just want to listen to the magical music of Studio Ghibli and be taken away to another world. The mixes provide a perfect blend of songs with meaningful lyrics, snippets of memorable lines from the movies, and beautiful relaxing melodies. There will be a part 3 of Radio Ghibli coming out later this year that will bring in more from the rest from the Ghibli movies.
