Sword Art Online fans, it’s time to rise up once again. Earlier this year, fans of the sci-fi anime rallied behind the series when A-1 Pictures debuted a new Sword Art Online feature film. The new movie, which is titled Ordinal Scale, reintroduced fans to Kirito and Asuna after an extended hiatus. The film’s box office haul left the animation studio loaded, giving the new film a chance to screen its subbed edition in the U.S. Now, fans can get a first-look at the movie’s English dub, and audiences will be glad to hear a few familiar voices.

In the trailer above, you can check out Madman’s English take on Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale. “Kirito and Asuna return in the all-new English Dub of Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale, the first feature film from the smash hit anime series!” the studio writes.

So far, fans have reacted well to the first Sword Art Online feature. The movie hit Japanese theaters back in February, and it quickly broke records. The film was the first anime movie to hit the number one spot for both weekend attendance and box office totals. In fact, Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale even threatened to budge Your Name out of its lofty box office status thanks to its popularity. So far, the movie has sold about 500,000 tickets worldwide since its opening weekend.

You can check out the synopsis for Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale below:

“In 2022, the world of virtual reality was upended by the arrival of a new invention from a genius programmer, Akihiko Kayaba, called NerveGear. It was the first full-dive system, and with it, came endless possibilities to VRMMORPGs.

In 2026, a new machine called the Augma is developed to compete against the NerveGear and its successor, the Amusphere. A next-gen wearable device, the Augma doesn’t have a full-dive function like its predecessors. Instead, it uses Augmented Reality (AR) to get players into the game. It is safe, user-friendly and lets users play while they are conscious, making it an instant hit on the market. The most popular game on the system is “Ordinal Scale” (aka: OS), an ARMMORPG developed exclusively for the Augma.

Asuna and the gang have already been playing OS for a while, by the time Kirito decides to join them. They’re about to find out that Ordinal Scale isn’t all fun and gamesโ€ฆ”
