A new trailer for the live-action Fullmetal Alchemist film has finally been released, and the trailer gave all sort of insights into what is going to be included into the story. Not only does Alphonse look amazing in his suit, but Edward's arm also looks fantastic, glistening in the sun. But one question that many may have from the trailer is: Who is Tisha Elric and what is her importance to the story?

In the new trailer there is a gravestone briefly shown with the name Trisha Elric and the dates 1876-1904. This hints at the brothers past, and we know about Trisha from the original anime, and manga. Trisha Elric is the mother of the Elric brothers, and her death is most likely the prologue to the entire live-action movie. As her death was the reason Alphonse appears as a suit of armor, and Ed has a mechanical arm.

Trisha grew sick an outbreak that made her weak, and eventually took her life. Left alone because of their runaway father, the brothers where full of grief and regret. In an attempt to stop the loneliness and sorrow of loosing their mother and being alone the boys performed the deadly Human Transmutation, which is where it seems the movie begins. The boys fail and they create a terrifying zombie version of their mother, and all hell breaks loose. Their failure ends up killing Alphonse, and in return Edward saves him by trapping his soul in a suit of armor and sacrificing his own arm in return.

Audience can expect to see Trisha a couple of scenes in the movie, she may be shown in her eerie zombie form, in flashbacks from the brothers, and potentially when the homunculus turn into images of her to trick the boys.

If you are not familiar with Fullmetal Alchemist, then you have plenty of time to watch the anime before its live-action film arrives. The series follows brothers Edward and Alphonse after their mother tragically passes. They attempt to use alchemy to resurrect her, but the attempt takes Edward's arm and leg - and it takes Alphonse's entire body. Determined to get their bodies restored, Edward and Alphonse try to become State Alchemists so they can find the location of a powerful item known as the Philosopher's Stone. But their journey ultimately leads them into a seedy world of government corruption and mass genocide.

This year, fans of the shonen series will be able to see more of the Elric Brothers than they have for some time. In December, Warner Bros. Japan will release the first live-action adaptation of Fullmetal Alchemist.

Fullmetal Alchemist will debut in Japan on December 1.
