Dark Reign Begins In Secret Invasion: Dark Reign

The Secret Invasion eight issue limited series from Marvel Comics just recently wrapped up. Even though the Skrulls may have been defeated, there is a brand new threat for Marvel superheroes. In Secret Invasion #8, Norman Osborn became a national hero by taking the kill shot that took down the Queen of the Skrull Empire. The final couple pages of Secret Invasion #8 revealed Norman Osborn meeting with a group of super-villains. The story of what Norman Osborn and his gang of super-villains plans to do begins in Secret Invasion: Dark Reign. Secret Invasion: Dark Reign is written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Alex Maleev. There will also be a special variant cover by Bryan Hitch. The one-shot special is scheduled to hit comic book stores on Wednesday, December 10, 2008. After the Secret Invasion: Dark Reign, the story continues in Dark Reign: New Nation, which features the Secret Warriors, the Agents of Atlas, War Machine, Ronin & Mockingbird, and the Skrull Kill Crew. Dark Reign: New Nation is written by Brian Michael Bendis, Jonathan Hickman, Jeff Parker, Greg Pak, Jim McCann, and Adam Felber. Pencils are by Stefano Caselli, Carlo Paguylan, Leonardo Manco, David Lopez, and Paulo Siqueria. The cover is by Daniel Acuna. Dark Reign: New Nation is scheduled to hit comic book stores on Wednesday, December 17, 2008. Marvel Comics has even prepared a special video trailer for fans to kick off the Dark Reign which can be found on Marvel.com.
