“I am Ozymandias, king of kings…”The poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley, which takes as its theme the fleeting nature of empire, is a key thematic element in Watchmen, the critically-acclaimed comic book series by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons and, after that, a film by Man of Steel director Zack Snyder.AMC has made the video below available, with Bryan Cranston reading the poem aloud for a little over a minute–and we’ve decided to share it with you now; it just came to our attention but, in an interesting twist, this video was first posted to AMC’s official YouTube page about a month ago, when premature reports “confirmed” long-standing rumors that Cranston will play Lex Luthor in the forthcoming Batman vs. Superman film–directed by Watchmen‘s Snyder. Nobody knows whether there’s any truth to those rumors, but there’s certainly a lot of fan enthusiasm for the gig–which Cranston has expressed interest in himself.
