No copies seem to have made their way online as yet, but this reporter can confirm social media chatter about a version of the trailer that showed a second or two of both the Invisible Woman and Human Torch using their powers.
I wasn’t paying particularly close attention to a trailer I’d already seen a dozen times, so all I noticed was like a split second of what looked like Johnny and Sue from a wide angle — a red fiery dot and a blue dot that looked a bit like living water, or that puddle Alex Mack used to turn into on Nickelodeon.
A reader hit us up in the Spoiler Room earlier today to give a little more detail.
“Did anyone go see Kingsman this weekend?” Jordan Miles asked. “The Fantastic Four trailer was shown and it featured like a couple new scenes like Johnny flying and Sue using her powers. Also looked like a big rock exploded and it wasnt the Thing. If you didnt go see it, you should. The footage caught me off guard and it was exciting.”
Prior to the online release of the Fantastic 4 trailer, there had been a good deal of speculation that it might make its debut attached to Kingsman. While that obviously proved not to be true, it’s interesting that Fox would release an “updated” version of the trailer to at least some prints of Kingsman and not comment on it publicly, or make the updated version available online.
The image above is not new footage; it’s a screen capture pulled off of a trailer that’s two weeks old.
Fantastic 4 is due in theaters on August 7.
