When asked about the prospect of a Cyborg book, Johns responded, “Funny you should say that about Cyborg!”
In a separate question along the same lines, he answered, “And Cyborg…one of my top five characters of all-time. I’ve been writing him since I wrote Flash and then Teen Titans and now Justice League…you will be seeing a lot more of him.”
In a more specific question, one fan asked whether DC had considered a Cyborg and the Metal Men-style series following the warm fan reception to the Metal Men in Justice League.
All he said was, “YES…!”
Since the launch of the New 52, Cyborg (originally a Teen Titans character) has been reimagined as one of the founding members of the Justice League, replacing Martian Manhunter in this continuity. He is the only such character who hasn’t had an ongoing series since the relaunch, in spite of having played a major role in Flashpoint, the event miniseries that led up to the New 52.
Ray Fisher was recently cast as Victor Stone, Cyborg’s alter ego, in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. The report at the time said that the character is “not a major part in the Batman-Superman feature [but] is a member of the Justice League, and the role will become much more significant role as Warner and DC develop more films related to the Justice League universe.”
