The company somewhat quietly updated their popular Google Maps service with a new selection option in the Timeline selector, as noticed by Reddit user GoldLeader272 (via Android Police). In addition to running, cycling, driving, and the like, you can now select Catching Pokemon. It doesn’t actually help you catch that hard to snag Eevee, but at least your friends will know you tried.

Plus, if you ever score that elusive professional Pokemon trainer position, this would essentially let you keep track of your mileage, providing a step by step account of your whereabouts throughout the day. Those jobs are hard to come by, but hey, you never know.

It was also recently announced that the game will be receiving the much appreciated Buddy Pokemon mechanic. You will now be able to have your favorite Pokemon walk alongside you, which will net you those oh so precious candies as you and Snorlax walk from place to place. There will be additional rewards as well, but those have not been released yet.

Pokemon GO has amassed an impressive sum and has generated $440 million, which is suitably more than a few would-be blockbusters have managed to take in this summer. Movies like Ghostbusters and Independence Day Resurgence have nothing on Pikachu and company.
