At Comic Con Experience in Brazil, Marvel Comics announced plans for an X-Men crossover event titled “Apocalypse Wars” in 2016.

The event will run through the pages of Extraordinary X-Men, All-New X-Men, and Uncanny X-Men, and will feature the return of En Sabah Nur just in time for his big screen debut in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Apocalypse prime has been out of commission in the Marvel Universe for some time, though his clone, Genesis, became a new Apocalypse when he was inverted during the events of Axis. Don’t worry, he got better, and is now travelling cross country with the time-displaced X-Men in All-New X-Men.

Another version of Apocalypse also appeared in Secret Wars. That version, one of Doom’s many barons, was slain, but we’ve seen that Battleworld deaths don’t tend to carry over to the newly reformed All-New, All-Different Marvel universe.

Check out when X-Men: Apocalypse and other movies are coming out in ComicBook.com’s Movie Release Schedule.
