, Michael Bay’s controversial and much-anticipated reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, will begin shooting in February, according to Production Weekly. The Heroes in a Half-shell were supposed to have started shooting by now, but production studio Paramount delayed the start of production back in mid-2012 and ordered a rewrite of the script, ostensibly to help drive down costs. There’s also speculation that fan anger over changes made to the basic premise of the popular comics-and-animation franchise may have played a role in the rewrite. If there’s any truth to that, it shouldn’t be hard to spot aspects of the classic mythology reintegrated into the movie when it hits theaters. The image at left is widely speculated to be a design inspired by the now-alien and no-longer-teenage Ninja Turtles, drawn for musician Kid Cudi by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman, who holds an advisory role on Ninja Turtles. Cudi is rumored to be involved with the production of the film, about which almost nothing else is known.
