Latino Review reports that the actor and former WWE star will play the role of the barbarian known as The Kurgan, originally depicted onscreen by The Flash villain Clancy Brown.
The Kurgan was the final antagonist in the 1986 version of the film, a barbarian whose endgame was to be the last immortal standing.
Director Cedric Nicolas Troyan had previously confirmed that the Kurgan will be in the reboot, saying that they wanted to give whoever ends up being cast in the lead “a strong Kurgan, and an actor who shines as Ramirez the way Connery did in that film film,” LR recalls in their story.
Troyan is next set to direct The Huntsman, the Chris Hemsworth-starring follow-up to Snow White and the Huntsman. He’ll get to Highlander right after that, but so far no roles have officially been filled.
