The Atom is heading to Central City.
In a new Instagram post, Flash star Grant Gustin revealed a photo of himself standing next to Ray Palmer actor Brandon Routh on show’s set. But Routh, who stars in Arrow, wasn’t just making a friendly visit—he was there to work. As Gustin noted in his post, he and Routh were “working together” for the first time—meaning that Barry and Ray will share a screen sometime during this season of The Flash.

While the thought of a Flash and Atom team-up sounds like a superhero dream come true, it’s more likely that their alter-egos, Ray Palmer and Barry Allen, will interact in the upcoming episode. Since both characters are major science jocks, it’s more than likely that they’ll collaborate with their noggins than with their fists. Besides, Ray is still in the development stages of his A.T.O.M. suit over in Arrow, so the thought of a full-blown Atom/Flash crossover already seems a bit rushed. A costume-less team-up, however, could easily pave the way for something more super heroic in future seasons. Regardless, the collaboration certainly indicates that Arrow and Flash will continue to bleed into one another, solidifying their bond as the same members of a shared universe.

The Flash airs on Tuesdays at 8:00 on The CW, and Arrow airs on Wednesdays at 8:00 on The CW.
