Eugene Victor Tooms is one of the most infamous of the X-Files freak-of-the-week villains, if for no reason other than he came back for a second helping in spite of not being a significant part of the overarching mythology of the series.Few characters did that, and those who did were generally quite memorable, Tooms included.Appearing in the episodes “Squeeze” and “Tooms,” the character was also referenced a number of times after that, including in a newspaper clipping tacked to the wall in Agent Mulder’s office. In his second appearance, Tooms was killed when he squeezed into a moving escalator.
