DC Comics has hundreds of beloved, incredible superheroes, and unfortunately not all of them can headline their own solo series. Thankfully, the perfect solution to that is to include them in a superhero team, which lets these characters bounce off each other in awesome ways. Team dynamics can elevate great heroes into superstars, and itโs always fun to see your favorites crack jokes and almost come to blows with your other favorites. But of course, for as many team comics as there are, there are still always going to be teams that donโt get to have a run right now, and thatโs a darn shame.

There are dozens of amazing, underutilized teams in DC, and despite the fact that all of them deserve a spot on the shelves, they canโt all have it. With the current evil incarnation of the Legion of Super-Heroes out and about, fans are clamoring for a comic following the classic version of the team and hungry for more, which brings up the question of what other lesser-known or even currently non-existent teams DC needs to give a comic book to. Without further ado, letโs take a look at the five who deserve a comic the most.
5) Lovers Trinity

Weโre starting off with a team that I canโt believe doesnโt already exist, which Iโve dubbed the Lovers Trinity. Everyone knows the Trinity of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, but I propose we need a comic centered around the main love interests of these three amazing heroes. Namely, Lois Lane, Catwoman, and Steve Trevor. It might seem odd to want these three to interact as they have almost nothing in common, but theyโve all either dated or are together with DCโs biggest and best heroes, and seeing the different perspectives each of them have on that relationship sounds like a really interesting idea to explore. It would not only let three very strong personalities come together in a way we havenโt seen before, but also let the story focus on the less-seen-but-equally-as-heroic work each of them can get up when the Trinity arenโt around. They can save the world in a very different, very human way, and adventures like that are something DC can always use more of. It could even be a chance to explore more mundane but beloved characters, like Linda Park or Snapper Carr. We all need more Snapper Carr in our lives.
4) The Terrifics

This one is just a no-brainer. Not only are Mister Terrific and Metamorpho more popular than ever after the success of James Gunnโs Superman, but another core member, Phantom Girl, is the ancestor of a very prominent Legion of Super-Heroes member of the same name. This is the perfect time to have Linnya meet Tinya and see the evil version she has been corrupted into. Beyond perfect timing, the Terrifics are genuinely a great team, effectively being DCโs version of the Fantastic Four. I mean, they even have the universeโs smartest man, a stretchy guy, and someone who can light themselves on fire if he wanted. They travel the Multiverse and deal with threats of all kinds, which can range from sci-fi to the deepest kind of magic fantasy, and that kind of range is spectacular. This teamโs dynamic is also unparalleled. I mean, you have the ever cool Mister Terrific leading the charge, and Plastic Man and Metamorpho bouncing off of each other? Thatโs a peak team if Iโve ever heard it.
3) Young Justice

This is perhaps the most necessary out of all the teams here. Young Justice was the premier teen superhero team of the โ90s, and they were one of the most fun teams out there. Back then, all of the sidekicks who made its core roster had bright, shining futures as mainline heroes laid out before them, but unfortunately, that time has long since passed. Quite literally every member of this team has been pushed to the wayside, as itโs clear that DC has no idea what to do with them. The last attempt at reviving this classic team was Brian Michael Bendisโs 2019 run, but even then that series was plagued with issues, and slowly faded into obscurity. Tim Drake, Connor Kent, Bart Allen, and Cassie Sandmark have been stuck in narrative purgatory for too long. They are the living examples of character regression, and deserve to be able to charge forward and grow as they are meant to. Bringing them back together to fight as a team would be the best way to give them the platform they need to evolve, and give DC something to actually do with them. There arenโt even any Teen Titans around right now, so this is the perfect time for Young Justice to run back to the spotlight.
2) The Trinity

Batman/Superman: Worldโs Finest is one of DCโs best ongoing series right now, focusing on Silver Age-inspired adventures set in the early years of Batman and Supermanโs careers. What I think is absolutely criminal is that weโve never had a similar book with the third member of DCโs most important trifecta. Wonder Woman deserves way more spotlight than she is given, and while her own series are popping off right now, we rarely get to see her interactions with Superman and Batman, who are supposed to be her two best friends. These three represent everything DC stands for, and yet weโve had shockingly few comics with the three of them sharing the spotlight. I would pay an unbelievable amount of money for a Worldโs Finest-like comic with the Trinity as the focus, as not only would it showcase one of the best friendships ever put to page, it would guaranteed be one of the most fun and whimsical reads out there.
1) Super Sons

When Damian Wayne and Jonathan Kent first became friends and had their original Super Sons comic, it was one of DCโs best. These two have changed a lot since their criminally-short tenure as the best sidekick duo of all time. Mainly Jon, given that he was unceremoniously aged up, declared Superman, then shoved aside to languish just like the Young Justice crew. Fans have been begging for Jon to be de-aged, and while thatโs never going to happen, the next best thing is to give these two another volume of Super Sons. Jon and Damian are both at pivotal moments in their lives. Jon is at his lowest point, having just been dumped by Jay (his boyfriend turned murderer and potential supervillain), and has no idea what his place in the world is after years of being manipulated and used as a weapon by all the evil monsters around him. Damian, in contrast, is at a high point, having come to terms with who he is and his position as Robin, being more dedicated to heroism and his family than ever before. This setup is perfect for an incredible role reversal dynamic, where itโs the usually brooding Robin pulling Superman out of the darkness and helping him see the light. This would let Jon truly come into his own as the character that he is now, and give Damian a chance to show his awesome new outlook on life. Itโs the perfect time, and we Super Sons fans are hungry to see these best friends get the band back together.
So there are the top five picks for what teams absolutely deserve a comic all their own right now. Of course, there are dozens more that could sit here, so narrowing it down was incredibly hard.
