2016 wasn’t the greatest year for DC’s cinematic universe, but it did manage to get it off the ground in a profitable way. 2017 though is looking much brighter thanks to both Wonder Woman and Justice League, the latter of which is being executive produced by Ben Affleck.

While Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice wasn’t the home run that he had hoped for, he did manage to take away a great deal of knowledge from the experience, knowledge that will serve him well in films to come. As he described in an interview with the BBC, the first lesson is to always talk during interviews with Henry Cavill.
“It taught me not to do interviews with Henry Cavill where I don’t say anything and they can lay Simon Garfunkel tracks over it. That’s one thing I learned. I learned a ton actually making that movie. I had not made a movie of that scale. I didn’t know what the sort of technology was capable of doing nowadays. The last big blockbustery movies I made was Armageddon which was in 1997, and so the rest of them had been The Town and Gone Girl and stuff like that, so you know, the technology had really changed the way those movies were being made was fascinating, so I learned a tremendous amount.”
Those lessons were likely put to good use in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which has already completed filming. Next up for Affleck is the anticpated Batman solo film, which he’s noted is still in the development stage.
In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder, from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, and features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Ciarán Hinds, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons and Jesse Eisenberg.
Justice League hits theaters on November 11, 2017, while Logan lands in theaters on March 3, 2017.
