Compared to the big-name heroes of the upcoming Justice League movie, Cyborg might seem like an afterthought or, worse, a sidekick. After all, what do most fans know about Ray Fisher's Victor Stone?

According to actor Joe Morton audiences are going to find out quite a bit more about Cyborg in the film than early looks may have let on.

Morton plays Dr. Silas Stone, Cyborg's father and the actor told GameSpot that when it comes to the father and son, audiences will be introduced to the characters in an "outside" story.

"With Cyborg and Silas Stone, you're getting the sort of outside story," Morton said. "You'll get to know them through the death of Cyborg's mother. You'll get to know what Silas is in terms of reconstructing his son. You'll get to know the angst between Silas and Victor, his son."

Exploring that angst and history builds on the Cyborg cameo from Batman v. Superman and lays a bit more foundation for the Cyborg solo movie slated for 2020 which is something that's impressed Morton when it comes to the portrayal of the character.

"What I love about what they've done so far—especially because the character is African-American—you get to understand the difficulty of being 'the other.' Cyborg is unlike the other superheroes. He has no alias to hide behind. He is who and what he is, so when he walks down the street, that's who you see, and people are obviously afraid of him," Morton says.

You can see Cyborg and Dr. Stone in Justice League when it opens November 17.

Justice League currently enjoys a 4.19 out of 5 on ComicBook.com's anticipation rankings. You can find the official description below.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy.
