Over the weekend, we lost movie making icon George A. Romero, creator of the original “Dead” zombie movie saga, including the original 1978 Dawn of the Dead. Taking to Twitter, Snyder shared the following thoughts on George Romero’s legacy:
The world has lost a master. Thank you for the inspiration. You changed my life with your art. You will be missed. #georgeromero #dotd

Romero helped Snyder craft the remake of Dawn of the Dead – even serving as co-writer of the script with Snyder. It’s probably for that reason that Dawn of the Dead still stands as one of the best (and most fan-approved) remakes of all time – as well as being one of the least divisive in Snyder’s filmography.
