Gotham executive producer and sometimes-director Danny Cannon has shared a new image to his Twitter feed, giving fans their first look at Fish Mooney’s return to the series in Season Three.
The character — created for television and played by Jada Pinkett-Smith — seemingly died at the end of Season One before popping back up in Season Two as part of the Hugo Strange subplot.
Cannon has been sharing photos from the set of Gotham Season Three for days, mostly location scouting and a few Gotham City Police Department photos. When sharing images of notable characters like Morena Baccarin’s Dr. Leslie Thompkins or Michael Chiklis’s Commissioner Barnes, it’s typically been either portraits, or very general photos that give away very little.
The photo of Fish is a lot more stylized, but it still doesn’t reveal much, since the character is largely in shadow.

Gotham is currently in production on its third season, which will premiere on FOX on Monday, September 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, preceding the Season Two premiere of Lucifer, also from DC Entertainment.
Series stars Pinkett-Smith, Baccarin, Chiklis, Robin Lord Taylor, Ben McKenzie and Donal Logue return for the show’s third season, this time joined by newcomers Jamie Chung (as Valerie Vale), Maggie Geha (as Poison Ivy), and James Carpinello as mob scion Mario Falcone. The season is expected to incorporate elements of the Court/Parliament of Owls stories from the comics, and introduce a number of Batman’s classic rogues in the wake of last year’s Strange experiments.
