Gotham Recap With Spoilers: 'Light The Wick'
Commercial Break
Bruce spars with another warrior in the dojo, while the Shaman watches over them. Bruce refuses to pick his stick back up to fight again. He continues to get beat, and the Shaman says he can leave if he ever wins. Bruce starts fighting again, but gets beat once more. He starts thinking of his parents' murder, and gets knocked down. The Shaman says his rage blinds him, and that he won't succeed until he lets go of that night. Nothing will stop him when he finally does/
Harvey checked the prints, and tells Jim that Katherine's last name is Monroe, and gives him her listed address. Jim says he's going to break into her house and try to figure things out. Harvey tells Jim about Lee and her inquiries. He tells Jim Barnes was transferred, but that they don't know where he went.
As Jim leaves his house, Oswald appears outside. Jim looks around and Firefly stands behind him. Oswald asks where Nygma is, and Jim says he escaped custody, but Oswald doesn't believe him. He thinks Gordon handed Nygma over to the "all-powerful group" and Jim tells Oswald to let it go. Oswald says he's going to go public about The Court, unless Jim sets up a meeting between the two parties. Penguin gives Jim a phone, saying his number is the only one in it.
Jim waits in his car, watching the door to Katherine's building. As soon as he sees someone leave, he starts snooping around inside. Hidden underneath a drawer, he finds an access badge to Wayne Enterprises. He takes it and puts the drawer back in place as Katherine comes home. Jim starts walking around the house but there is nowhere to hide. He presents himself to her, and says Oswald is back in Gotham. Jim demands a seat at the table, because he's proven his commitment. He wants to know what the judgement entails. Katherine explains that Gotham is sick, and they need to heal the city. They will force them to take notice by showing the people of Gotham their darkest selves. After explaining the plan, she tells Jim to leave. He walks out, and leaves Harvey a message. Jim says he knows what the weapon is, and Katherine can be seen watching him from the window.

Jim tells Harvey and Lucius that the weapon is the Tetch virus. Lucius says it's definitely possible, as long as they have a sample of the source. They realize Barnes was taken by Katherine, and they need to find him. Jim shows Lucius the key card, and he figures out where they took Barnes.
Ivy is at the hospital, controlling nurses with her poison. They bring a bunch plants in that will help heal Selina. Ivy apologizes to Selina for everything, and promises to be there when she wakes up.
Back in the mountains, the Shaman sits with Bruce. The man tells Bruce that they will go back to a different memory, where they can remove the day where Bruce discovered the fullness of his rage. Shaman says that Bruce and Gotham need each other. Gotham needs a protector, and Bruce needs a purpose. He can make it happen, but it has to be Bruce's choice.
The two head into Bruce's memories, back to the day of his parents wake. This is where Bruce realized he was an orphan. Bruce says he left the wake because no one would stop talking about him, even though it was his parents that were killed. No one else seemed angry. He went to his father's room, to get a pair of cuff links that he was supposed to be buried in. He couldn't let them go. A safe appears, and Shama tells Bruce he needs to lock them away to release the memory. Bruce puts the links in the safe, and passes out in the real world. The Shaman says that he's been waiting a long time for this, that they "will make Gotham pay."
Jim and Harvey get to the location that Lucius told them about, and they use the Wayne key card to get in. People in lab coats lay all around, covered in blood. A man walks up, with blood coming from his mouth, he says he didn't mean to kill the people. When he thinks Jim and Harvey are there to control them, he attacks. The man has superhuman strength, and throws both officers with the greatest of ease. Just when he starts choking Jim, Strange walks up and tranquilizes him.

Harvey and Jim ask Strange what happened to the virus. He reveals that Katherine has it, and she held him under his will. Hugo says that they can't arrest him, because they would know that they were onto the Court. Strange reveals that the shipment at Dock 9C was the vessel they would use to send the weapon into Gotham, and that Jim needs to hurry if he wants to stop them. Strange is playing both sides, and he says he wants a gesture of good will from the cops in exchange for his help. He hands Jim a vial of his virus, and wishes them luck. Jim tells Harvey to get the virus to Lucius, while he tries to find Katherine. She calls him, and tells him to meet her in order to possibly join the table.
Bruce is fighting the other man at the temple, and he's holding his own. Shaman watches on as Bruce defeats his opponent. Bruce says he felt nothing when he was fighting, no rage. The Shaman tells Bruce he can take the pain away, and send him back to Gotham with a power he never thought possible. Bruce tells the other man to get up and keep fighting.
Jim arrives where Katherine asked him to meet, and she has him turn over his gun and phone. Afterward, the walk over to a window overlooking a ballroom. There's a party down there, held by the Daughters of Gotham. Katherine reveals that her family has been protecting Gotham for some time, and that she needs his help. She has a dispersal bomb for the Alice Tetch virus, and that's how she's going to hurt Gotham. She says the radius for the bomb is a half-mile, and the ballroom party is just a test. Katherine activates the bomb, sets a 15-minute timer, and tells her assistant to put it in the middle of the room. If Jim tries to interfere in any way, he will be executed on the spot.

Jim watches the clock, and the party. The assistant, names Talon, stands behind him. The other assistant says the device in place. While they are distracted, Jim makes a call with the phone he didn't give up. The phone Penguin gave him earlier. Oswald quickly picks the phone up. He can hear Jim talking to Talon, saying he hopes the First Bank of Gotham can withstand the attack, letting Oswald know where he was.
At the station, Lucius and Harvey are trying to figure out the compound. After Harvey walks out, Lee confronts Lucius, asking if he's helping Jim too. She says she knows Jim is doing something bad, but Lucius says she's got it all wrong. Jim is trying to make sure no one else is killed, like Mario. He says he can't tell her any more, and that he's sorry for that.
At the party, the bomb sits in the middle of the room. Jim says "screw it" and starts to fight Talon. The latter is about to kill Jim, when Firefly shows up and burns him. He falls through the window, on fire, alerting all of the party-goers. He tells everyone to get out, and Penguin asks about their deal. "You just torched their assassin, they'll be in touch."
Jim helps get everyone out of the building, and closes the doors as the bomb is set to release the venom.

Katherine gets a call on her phone, and Shaman is on the other end. She asks about Bruce, and the man says that Bruce is believing in the destiny. He says that they will be leaving the mountain that night, and returning to Gotham.
Nygma is upset, wondering where Ivy and Freeze are. As he looks around his empty house, a man stands in the dark behind him.
Back at the hospital, Selina sleeps on a bed, surrounded by plants. She starts to breathe, and Ivy asks her if she's okay. Selina is truly back, and Ivy saved her. Selina starts taking the IV out of her arms, and gets up out of the bed. She says she's going to Wayne Manor to kill someone.
Jim walks into the station, and Lee is packing her things. She's leaving the GCPD because Jim has infected everyone there. He has taken everything from her. Jim tells her all of the truth, beginning with the fact that Mario was going to kill her. He says leaving won't help, and then explains that she now "knows how" he can move on. Lee leaves Jim standing alone.
Katherine sits in her house, and notices something off about her desk. She realizes that Jim took the card.
Oswald is now locked up, screaming from behind bars that whoever is putting him away can't do that. Someone in the cell beside his says his name, and Nygma stands there, asking how he could be alive. The two stand face to face. Oswald reaches through the bars, and tries to choke his former friend. However, he's too far way. They continue staring.
Katherine stands before Barnes, who is strapped to a board, with a mask over his face. She says that Jim threatens what they seek to change about Gotham, and that he needs to kill him. Barnes then breaks his chains away, and rips his mask off. He says, "Jim Gordon is guilty, and I will be his executioner."
