The Flash is nearing the end of an action-packed second season, and according to Kevin Smith and Teddy Sears, fans are in for a big shock.
On the latest Fat Man on Batman podcast, Smith and Marc Bernardin spoke with Flash Actor Teddy Sears about the much-anticipated finale, including a very bold leap that the show takes upon its conclusion.

“Aside from the script that I did, the Zack Stentz script, which is emotionally wonderful, but they teased two things, well they didn’t tease, I was there on set, but the breakdown of what the last two episodes are, and there was something that happened in the episode right after mine where I was like, and it involves you in a big bad way, that I was like ahhhhh (slams the table), ahhhhhh (pretends to flip it over), like I wished that I was directing it because it is mad genius.”
The trio spoke about how the writing feels as if nothing is being held back, with Smith adding: “That’s what this feels like, like it felt, not like writing like we’re running out of time “aww s*** we’re up against it, just throw anything down. It is definitely plotted, and they made a really kind of like bold choice where you’re almost like, again kind of like what Teddy said earlier, how do you go to season 3? But they must’ve had a conversation, where like if we’re going to do this we must, what happens when we land because the jump is glorious.”
Sears seconded that opinion, saying: “The jump is glorious, but if you don’t have something to land on then why jump, ya know? Then the jump is a gimmick ya know, but it is so not. They so have it nicely figured out I think for where to launch season 3.”
Big things are on the horizon for The Flash when it returns tonight on the CW.
