Maisie Richardson-Sellers, who plays Amaya Jiwe/Vixen on the series, recently addressed her character’s upcoming interactions with one of her granddaughters, Season Three villain Kuasa (Tracy Ifeachor). According to Richardson-Sellers, the altercation will cause Amaya to reassess her potential legacy.

“I think it’s really fascinating for Amaya to see that one of her descendants could turn out to be evil,” Richardson-Sellers revealed to Bleeding Cool. “She knows she has to get back to her timeline because [present-day Vixen] Mari needs to exist, but now she knows that if Mari exists so does Kuasa. It really shakes her up for the season.”

Luckily, it sounds like Amaya won’t be alone in dealing with her unique family tree in Legends‘ third season. Ray Palmer/The Atom (Brandon Routh) previously met Kuasa in the second season of Vixen, fighting alongside her until she was killed in battle.

As Legends executive producer Marc Guggenheim explained earlier this month, this will give Ray a unique perspective as to how Amaya – and the rest of the team – deal with Kuasa.

“I think that’s what makes it interesting as far as Amaya is concerned,” Guggenheim elaborated, “is that Ray, at the appropriate moment, will accurately tell her that there were moments where Kuasa was capable of selfless good. So I think that gives Amaya a little bit of hope.”

Even then, Kuasa is already expected to be quite a threat against the Legends once Season Three rolls around. The villainess is set to form a new supergroup of antagonists alongside Arrowverse veterans Damien Darhk and Gorilla Grodd.

Legends of Tomorrow returns to Tuesday nights at 9 p.m., following new episodes of The Flash, in October.
