On Monday afternoon, the landscape of comic book movies was drasticaly rattled. Director Zack Snyder was announced to be departing the upcoming Justice League film along with his wife, executive producer Deborah Snyder.

The reason for the departure was to allow their family time to heal in the aftermath of their daughter’s tragic and unexpected death.
“In my mind, I thought it was a cathartic thing to go back to work, to just bury myself and see if that was way through it,” Snyder said. “The demands of this job are pretty intense. It is all consuming. And in the last two months I’ve come to the realization…I’ve decided to take a step back from the movie to be with my family, be with my kids, who really need me. They are all having a hard time. I’m having a hard time.”
“What they are going through is unimaginable, and my heart โ our hearts โ go out to them,” Toby Emmerich, president of Warner Bros. Pictures, told said.
Now, the rest of the DC Extended Universe’s family of producers and directors are sharing their condolences with the Snyder family.

Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins was quick to chime in following the news of Snyder’s departure from Justice.ย
Jenkins sent a tweet with a link to THR’s original report, with the caption, “Our hearts are with the Snyder’s and have been. Truly good people and friends to so many. “
Jenkins worked with Snyder during their time at the DC Extended Universe, as Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice introduced Gal Gadot’sย portrayal of Wonder Woman which Jenkins took over in the film which will hit theaters next weekend.ย

DC Comics genius Geoff Johns was also quick to show respect to Snyder and his family.
Having recently stepped in as an executive producer on the projects and working closely with Snyder on Justice League, Johns tweeted, “My heart, eternal support, and thanks to my friend and colleague Zack Snyder – one of the kindest and most inspirational artists I’ve ever known.”
Snyder worked closely with many of the members of the DC Extended Universe’s family. His mark was clearly incredibly positive and the Justice League film will be a reflection of his passion as the rest of the family carries out his vision through post-production.
