Preacher Episode 5 Sneak Preview & Clip: South Will Rise Again

AMC has released a sneak preview and clip from next Sunday’s episode of Preacher, which is titled “South Will Rise Again.”

The episode’s official description reads: “After his stunt with Quincannon, Jesse is Annville’s newest rock star; and Tulip and Cassidy connect. Meanwhile, the Cowboy makes a tragic decision.”

Based on the popularcult comic book franchise of the same name, “Preacher” is a supernatural, twisted anddarkly comedic drama that follows a West Texas preacher named Jesse Custer, who isinhabited by amysteriousentitythat causes him to develop a highly unusualpower. Jesse,his badass ex -girlfriend Tulip andan Irishvagabond namedCassidycome togetherand when they do, they are thrust into acrazy world populatedby a cast of charact ers from heaven, hell and everywhere in between.

The series stars Dominic Cooper (“Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Need for Speed”) as Jesse Custer,Ruth Negga (“World War Z,” “The Samaritan”) as Tulip, Joseph Gilgun (“This is England,” “Lockout”) asCassidy, Lucy Griffiths (“Winter’s Tale,” “Robin Hood”)as Emily,Earl W. Brown (“The re’s SomethingAbout Mary,””Scream”) as Sheriff Root,Ian Colletti (“Ph oebe in Wonde rland,” “Baby Momma”) as Eugeneand Derek Wilson ( “Rectify “) as Donnie Schenck.

“Preacher” was developed for television by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (“This Is the End,” “Superbad,””Neighbors”) and showrunner Sam Catli n (“Breaking Bad”). Rogen, Goldberg and Catlin will executiveproduce along with James Weaver, Neal Moritz, Vivian Cannon, Ori Marmur, Matt Tauber, Ken Levin andJason Netter.Co -executive producers include Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon.

The fifth episode of Preacher, “South Will Rise Again,” will air Sunday, June 26 at 9|8c on AMC.
