Killer Croc made his big screen debut in this year’s Suicide Squad with a look that proved just what practical makeup effects can do. Now Sideshow Collectibles has brought the imposing villain to their Premium Format line and have gone with a look that sits between Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s version and the villain seen in the comics.

Sideshows Croc also has a lighter green tone and features similar scale patterns around his face. The skin on Croc’s arms and back are more in line with versions seen in the comics, as is the more crocodile influenced jaw line and teeth. Croc is hunched over and ready to pounce on some unfortunate soulin the sewer, with an expression of intense focus, and that probably means the person he’s watching has no idea he’s there.

That’s not a comforting thought, so let’s move on to his buddy that comes along for the ride, the little black rat. Sideshow went to a great deal of effort to sculpt him, down to his beady red eyes. The sculptors also added some splash effects around Croc’s foot, which are tinted with a very light green color. He is in the sewer after all.

Completing the ensemble is a rope belt with torn brown trousers, which of course are made of real fabric. If you get the exclusive version of the statue, however, you get a bonus swappable portrait that gives the character a head much more fitting of a full-on crocodile. Either way, the sculpting at play in this statue is beyond impressive, and you can’t really go wrong with either.

Croc stands at 18.5 inches high and is 13.5 inches wide. The statue was sculpted by Pablo Viggiano and Alfred Paredes, with mold and casting done by Adam Smith. Steve Riojas and Kat Sapene painted Croc, while Tim Hanson was responsible for the costume fabrication.

You can pre-order Killer Croc here, and he is expected to ship between August and October of 2017. He retails for $519.99, and you can get more photos of the statue in the gallery.
