Things may be quiet on the front of The Flash, but Warner Bros. has not forgotten about the much-anticipated project. After losing director Rick Famuyiwa, things were up in the air for the project, but new life is being breathed into Barry Allen as fans speak. Not long ago, reports began surfacing that Warner Bros. is looking to tweak the script for The Flash, and the studio has helmed an impressive writer to do the work.

Thanks to Variety, fans now know that Warner Bros. has ordered a script rewrite for The Flash. The studio hired Joby Harold to do the page-one rewrite. So far, Warner Bros. has no comments about the affair, but it looks like the studio may be wanting to change the film’s direction after the project’s loss of directors.

Of course, fans have know that the script for The Flash was being worked on in some capacity. During promotions for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Ezra Miller hinted that the crew was now focusing on the film’s story itself. The last draft of the script was reportedly treated and penned by Famuyiwa, and rumors swirled the director ultimately exited The Flash due to creative concerns over the script. Prior to Famuyiwa’s input, the script was written by Seth Grahame-Smith.

So far, it looks like things are still shaking over on the front of The Flash. While directors may be rotating in and out of the project, The Flash does have a few stable hands at the ready. Miller has talked at length about his excitement to bring Barry Allen to life on-screen, and DC Comics’ Geoff Johns has been tapped to assist the film along. Last year, Miller took time to praise the comic guru for his help and stressed how knowledgable Johns was about the film’s direction.

“Yes, he’s a good guy to have around,” Miller explained. “He keeps us full of information and he keeps us from making ignorant mistakes that would upset the fans across the world because you pretty much can’t get someone with a deeper knowledge of this universe than Geoff Johns.”

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroesโ€”Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flashโ€”it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
