The Hollywood Reporter’s Pamela McClintock recently took to Twitter to suggest that Wonder Woman 2‘s release date could soon be revealed. According to McClintock, the projected date would be the later of the cinematic universe’s 2020 dates – June 5th, 2020.

Of course, whether or not Wonder Woman 2 will take that release date is currently unconfirmed. But considering the original film’s smash success, it’s entirely plausible that its sequel’s release date could be unveiled very soon – and that audiences could see the next chapter of Diana Prince’s adventures in 2020.

In Wonder Woman, before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that’s raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.

Gal Gadot made her debut as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016. She will return as Wonder Woman alongside the DC Extended Universe’s other heroes in Justice League, opening in November 2017.

Wonder Woman was directed by Patty Jenkins from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg, based on a story by Heinberg, Zack Snyder, and Jason Fuchs. Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen, and Elena Anaya.
