Now that Wonder Woman has hit theaters and broken records (in fact, the movie is STILL breaking records), the people who worked on the movie are now coming forward with their personal experiences and contributions.

We’ve heard about Patty Jenkins‘ process for making the movie and how she got the job, and about Gal Gadot‘s time working on the film and the pressure of portraying such an iconic role. But we’ve yet to hear from many of the production workers who helped make the movie a reality.
Artist Joshua Min recently revealed his own contributions to the film, visualizing key sequences that helped define the concepts for some of the most profound scenes in the movie.
Previously artist Houston Sharp revealed the work that he and studio mates at Aaron Sims Creative provided for the elaborate “History Lesson” scene, but Min’s work on his ArtStation profile provides another look at scenes set on Themyscira, in the destroyed village of Veld, and during battle with Ares.
Check out the artwork Min’s artwork for Wonder Woman below.
From Themyscira To War
The first two images take place on the island paradise of Themyscira.
Min’s first picture shows young Diana hiding while watching the Amazons train for an inevitable war. The movie reveals that the gods created the Amazons to aid mankind, but gave them Themyscira to allow them to retreat after Ares infected the humans with a lust for war. They’ve been training ever since.
As the first Great War begins to spread across the globe, the battle soon breaks the illusionary barrier surrounding the island. Allied spy Steve Rogers attempts to escape the German forces with knowledge of a new weapon when he crash lands on the pristine beaches, becoming the first man to set foot on the island.
The second picture depicts Wonder Woman saving Trevor, gazing upon him with fascination. Of course, this leads to larger problems as the Germans invade soon after.
Wonder Woman is aided by Trevor into the battle zone where they liberate a small town called Veld from German forces. Unfortunately, General Ludendorff uses the opportunity to bomb the village with his new gas weapon, devastating the village, as seen in the third picture.
The fourth picture is the first sequence in a series of storyboards Min provided for the final battle.
Battle With Ares
A lot of superhero movies (and, to a greater extent, action movies) tend to reveal a “big bad” pulling the strings, and Wonder Woman does so as well with Ares.
While viewers are lead to believe Ludendorff is the God of War, he is merely a pawn being manipulated by the true deity.
Sir Patrick Morgon had been attempting to negotiate an armistice throughout the entirety of the movie, but that was merely another ploy to prolong the war. He reveals himself to Wonder Woman and the battle begins.
The fight that follows was a CG-filled spectacle, but Min nails the visuals in his images. The first shows Morgon using his abilities against Diana while still in his human form before actualizing himself as the God of War.
The next few images show Ares true might as he battles Wonder Woman on the airstrip.
The storyboard sequences show how Min helped convey the action that is carried out on screen. He’s a stunning artist and made strong contributions to the film’s finished product.
MORE WONDER WOMAN
Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, Princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that’s raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.
Wonder Woman was directed by Patty Jenkins from a screenplay by AllanHeinberg, based on a story by Heinberg, Zack Snyder, and Jason Fuchs. Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen, and Elena Anaya.
Wonder Woman is now playing in theaters.
