Call of Duty: WWII Gets Two Private Betas, Pre-Order Bonus, New Details

Following the reveal of a new multiplayer trailer last night during the PlayStation E3 press conference, Call of Duty: WWII has gotten even more details, including when PS4 owners will be able to get their hands on the game for the first time – as well as what else awaits for those that pre-order.

First up, Activision has announced that the WWII private beta will take place across two different weekends. The first one will begin on August 25th exclusively on PlayStation 4, starting at 10 AM PDT, and ending August 28th at 10 AM PDT. It's just open to those that pre-order, so if you haven't already, you might want to get on that.

There will also be a second beta weekend that takes place from September 1st through September 4th, starting at 10 AM PDT and ending at the same time three days later. However, this beta will be for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. There's no word on whether the Steam version will be getting any kind of beta, but fingers crossed.

Some new details also emerged regarding the game's new Headquarters mode, which will serve as a social hub in-between matches. According to Charlie Intel, the mode will support up to 48 players at a time in the hub, and will enable you to not only chat with others, but also test your skills on the Firing Range, in case you want to become accustomed with a certain weapon. Michael Condrey, co-founder of Sledgehammer Games, has noted that, while it's not on the E3 show floor, it will be included in both weekends of the beta.

There are also some new gameplay details, including the ability to target tanks as strategic objectives. Obviously, getting to them and setting up explosives to take them out will be tricky business, but it's great that they won't be completely invulnerable when it comes to mowing down opponents. Gotta fight back, after all.

As seen in the trailer (which you can view above), a plane is dropping a bomb on certain enemies. This is also confirmed to be one of the Scorestreaks in the game, so you can unleash old-school hell on your opponents.

Last but certainly not least, a new Divisions pack has been revealed for the game, including a series of special outfits for the five different Divisions that will be featured in the game. Again, it's a pre-order bonus, like the beta, but well worth it for those who invest.

Call of Duty: WWII will release on November 3rd for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
