A video teasing the return of YouTube personality Logan Paul left viewers with mixed opinions about the vlogger’s comeback.
The brief video in question was shared by Paul in a tweet that was captioned “THE RETURN,” a reference to his coming back to YouTube after stepping away for awhile amid controversy. It featured Paul climbing amid rocks near an ocean with some visible dirt and scuffs accompanied by a walking stick and a long beard while a narrator dramatically voiced over the video.

Paul’s departure from YouTube came after he became the subject of controversy when the vlogger uploaded a video that showed he and his friends traveling to Japan, specifically to the Aokigahara forest. Commonly referred to as the Suicide Forest, Paul and his team went into the forest and found a suicide victim. They then proceeded to film the victim as well as use the deceased’s image as the video’s thumbnail, a decision that immediately drew backlash from those who criticized Paul for his insensitivity.
After stepping away from YouTube for a while with the video platform also limiting his visibility by pulling him from the Google Preferred advertising platform, Paul uploaded a more serious video in an attempt to bring awareness to suicide and suicide prevention. But with that controversy taking place at the end of December and continuing on throughout January, the incident is still fresh people’s minds, many of which think that a month isn’t quite long enough for Paul to think on his actions.
However, Paul is still regarded as a YouTube sensation by many who stand by the personality as diehard fans. Some stuck with him throughout the whole incident and are more than happy to see him return while encouraging him to shake off any further controversy or hatred.
Apparently @LoganPaul thinks enough a month is enough time passing that youโll forget he filmed a the body of a suicide victim, edited that film, and then published it to make money off other people viewing the body, too. https://t.co/UUIkDrZm3T
