Yeah, we know, you’ll never get rid of your MIDA Multi-Tool. And for good reason! It’s a fantastic scout rifle with way too many upsides to ignore. The only issue is that it’s currently dominating the PvP meta by an unhealthy margin. High-level Crucible, Trials, and Iron Banner matches turned into camping sessions with both teams sitting comfortably behind their scopes and staring at their radars.

We’re over it, and frankly, there are plenty of other great Scout Rifles to choose from other than the Multi-Tool. While Scout Rifles are currently the go-to favorites in competitive play, we have five alternatives for you to consider. These are five Scout Rifles that we’re recommending because of their TTK (time-to-kill) and perks. We’re pulling our data from this spreadsheet and this chart, in case you’d like to reference them.
Without further ado, these are the five deadliest Scout Rifles in Destiny 2 right now.
Manannan SR4

We’re kicking things off withย Destiny 2‘sย true hidden gem: Theย Manannanย SR4. This Scout Rifle you can only unlock by trading in your weapon scraps to Banshee, and we think you may come to love it even more than yourย MIDA. It’s more stable than theย MIDA, even without the extra aim assist, and it’s an energy weapon which means you can apply void, arc, or solarย modsย as needed. The fact that it’s a legendary also gives it an edge of theย MIDAย because it frees up another exotic weapon slot. Yeah, we’re looking at you coil-glitchers.ย

With Slideways and Auto-Loading Holster equipped, you’re never going to need to worry about ammo. Aggressive Guardians slide to corners will find their magazines deplete slowly, and when you whip out your SMG for close-range skirmishes, but the time you take out The End again, the auto-loading holster will have your magazine full and ready to go. Seven-Six-Five

Everything about Seven-Six-Five says speed. The lightweight frame makes it very deadly in the right hands, especially if you’re a high-mobility Hunter who loves to strafe. This puppy fires full-auto, so if you can track your target effectively, then keep that trigger held down and strafe out of harm’s way. This is an infuriating rifle to go up against in the crucible since its users never sit still, and it’s fun as hell to use.

Nameless Midnight

The one. The only. Nameless Midnight. When most of you are quizzed about the best Scout Rifle in Destiny 2, if you’re not saying MIDA Multi-Tool, you’re likely saying Nameless Midnight. This guy has been a constant fan-favorite due to its high precision, high impact, and explosive rounds. Those explosive rounds make this perfect for PvE and raiding as well, since they can damage enemies behind cover and behind shields.
