Destiny 2: Getting Your Hands On The MIDA Multi-Tool And Mini-Tool
There are a lot of great weapons in Destiny 2 – in fact, there are quite a few that we still [...]
Getting the MIDA Mini-Tool
The first thing you're going to need to do is wrap up the game's campaign mode. It can take a while, but it's worth it. Along the way, you'll need to attain level 20 as well. Once that's all said and done, make your way to the European Dead Zone (or EDZ for short) on planet Earth and talk to Devrim Kay. He'll provide instructions, which you'll want to follow by completing a series of quests. These are all pretty easy, so don't sweat it. Standard "shoot enemy" stuff.
Once that's done, he'll reward you for your efforts by giving you the MIDA Mini-Tool. It's a neat, Legendary submachine gun that's one of the best around. Plus, it looks pretty funky with its design, as you can see above. This can be done in about an hour, and you'll net one of the best SMGs in the game. Moving on!

Next up is getting your hands on the Multi-Tool. This could take a little longer, as there are a few more things you'll need to do.
Make your way over to the new Tower and track down the local Gunsmith, Banshee-44. You'll be given a quest called Sight, Shoot, Repeat. You'll need to use the Mini-Tool here, taking out 25 groups of enemies without reloading. You should be able to do this bit by bit, taking out three enemies at a time before swapping out mags. That can be rather tricky, but with practice, you should be good to go.
Once that's done, you'll need to take the next step – dismantling some scout rifles.

The rifles you'll need to specifically take apart are the Rare (blue) and/or Legendary (purple) scout rifles. Get five of these taken apart and you'll be able to proceed to the next step. (You can stock up on these beforehand and keep a few spares in the vault if it helps.)
Once that's done, go back to Banshee-44. He'll provide you with a quest called The Fall Will Kill You. Use the MIDA Mini-Tool again (or another SMG, if you prefer) and take down 50 enemies while in the air. Yep, in the air.
Once that's finished, return to Banshee-44 once again, and you'll be rewarded with the MIDA Multi-Tool. And you'll be good to go!
Congratulations, you now have what is largely considered to be the most overpowered gun in the game. Use it in the Crucible like every other freaking Guardian in the game and feel proud of yourself (just kidding, we're actually proud of you).
