While the launch of Destiny 2 didn’t come with the clan feature being fully activated, most of the components of the system are now able to be accessed. The clan roster that shows the clans’ members in-game is one aspect of the feature that’s not yet live, but compared to the rewards that can be gained from participating in clan functions, not having an in-game roster at the moment is a pretty excusable exclusion for now.

Over on Bungie’s support site, the developer detailed some of the awesome benefits that players can look forward to receiving by participating in the clan system in Destiny 2. Clan perks, items, and weekly clan Engrams are just a few of the incentives that can be earned through the clan system.

But in order to earn all these clan-based rewards, players will have to start building up their clan’s XP levels first. The short guide to clans from Bungie details the XP system by explaining how to earn XP and when a clan’s XP will be reset, all of which is seen below:

  • Clan Members completing activities in Destiny 2 will contribute to their Clan XP up to a weekly maximum that resets with the Weekly Reset
  • Clans must have at least 2 members to begin earning Clan XP
  • Players that are members of a Clan will have access to the “Clan XP” Milestone which is a weekly Milestone that allows them to earn additional rewards
  • Clan Levels and Clan Perks reset with the Seasonal Reset
  • Players can track their weekly personal contribution to the Clan XP from the Clan Profile in-game in Destiny 2 and the Destiny Companion (Mobile App Only)
  • Players can track the weekly Clan XP progress from the Clan Profile in Destiny 2 and the Destiny Companion (On Bungie.net Only)

Each clan will also have several chat channels to communicate through, and joining, leaving, or reporting a clan couldn’t be simpler. Bungie also advises players to log out and back in if clans aren’t working as they should, but other than that, the clans should be mostly ready to go for Destiny 2 players.
