With so many new games releasing every month, it can be tough to keep track. And then, you’ve got different games releasing on different platforms. There’s nothing quite like getting hyped for a new release, only to realize you can’t play it on your go-to system. Many of the biggest Switch 2 releases of the year are headed our way in November and beyond. But October is delivering quite a few new titles for the Switch family of consoles. Perhaps most notably for Nintendo fans, October will finally bring us the release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A. This will be the first Pokemon game to release for Switch 2, after the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet upgrade proved the new console can really make a difference. But Pokemon isn’t the only exciting new game releasing for the Switch and Switch 2 in October. Here’s everything headed our way this month, Nintendo fans.
Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 Bundle

As revealed in the September Nintendo Direct, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are being re-released to the Nintendo eShop. The games will be available starting October 2nd, and can be purchased as a bundle or as separate titles. They will be headed to the Nintendo Switch and playable on Switch 2 through backwards compatibility.
Battle Suit Aces

On October 7th, mecha and monster-filled card battle RPG Battle Suit Aces arrives on the Nintendo Switch. The game is confirmed to play on Nintendo Switch 2 through backwards compatibility, as well.
Absolum

Dometu’s brand-new roguelite beat ’em up, Absolum, arrives on Nintendo Switch on October 9th. Players will be introduced to a brand-new fantasy world, where they’ll take on a fast paced adventure. The game is also supported on Switch 2 through backwards compatibility.
Bye Sweet Carole

If you were hoping to get something spooky for the Switch this October, you’re in luck. Narrative horror game Bye Sweet Carole arrives on the Nintendo Switch on October 9th. The game pulls readers into a terrifying fantasy tale that’s sure to leave you scared in the best way. Though releasing for the OG Switch, the game is confirmed to be supported for Switch 2 as well.
Disagea 7 Complete

Switch 2 owners, this one is an exclusive just for Nintendo’s newest console. On October 10th, Disagea 7 Complete arrives exclusively on the Switch 2. This game revisits the classic strategy RPG, Disagea 7: Vows of the Virtueless, with every one of its DLC alongside new features and content.
Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition

The all-new Enhanced Edition of Little Nightmares will arrive on multiple platforms, including the Switch 2, just in time for spooky season. This upgraded version of the beloved horror game improves the FPS, graphics, and more. It’s available starting October 10th for the Switch 2 (sorry, Switch owners – this one’s not headed your way).
Little Nightmares 3

Alongside the new enhanced version of the first game, Little Nightmares 3 will make its terrifying debut on October 10th. This horror game is the third installment in the scary survival series, and it will be available for the Nintendo Switch. It is confirmed to be supported for the Nintendo Switch 2, as well.
Just Dance 2026 Edition

Yes, it’s still 2025, but Ubisoft is already gearing up to drop the next installment of Just Dance. Arriving on October 14th, Just Dance 2026 Edition will offer 40 new songs with the same great solo, co-op, and competitive modes fans expect. The game officially arrives on Nintendo Switch and is supported for Switch 2 via backwards compatibility.
Ball x Pit

This fantasy roguelite finds heroes plunging into the depths to complete their mission. It arrives on the Nintendo Switch on October 15th, with a plan to release a Switch 2 edition in “Fall 2025” as well.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Pokemon fans, the moment we’ve been waiting for is almost here. Pokemon Legends: Z-A arrives with a Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 edition on October 16th. This latest Pokemon adventure is set in Lumiose City and will bring back Mega Evolutions in a big way.
Angry Video Game Nerd 8-Bit

On October 23rd, the 8-bit installment in the Angry Video Game Nerd series arrives on Nintendo Switch. Battle your way through platforming levels of doom and work to save the world of gaming, on modern platforms and the NES. Switch 2 compatibility is not yet confirmed.
Persona 3 Reload

Persona fans, get ready. Persona 3 Reload is getting a brand-new Nintendo Switch 2 edition. The iconic JRPG remake arrives on Nintendo’s newest console on October 23rd.
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted

Another exciting remaster headed our way this month is Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted. Arriving on October 23rd, this remaster of the original Plants vs. Zombies will have both a Switch 1 and Switch 2 edition available.
The Jackbox Party Pack 11

Jackbox Games fans are getting a brand new installment this October with The Jackbox Party Pack 11. Arriving on October 23rd, this new collection brings players five brand-new party games to enjoy. It will be released for the Nintendo Switch, along with most other platforms.
Chicken Run: Eggstraction

A chaotic and silly co-op adventure from the Chicken Run universe is headed our way this month. Chicken Run: Eggstraction will release on October 24th for the original Nintendo Switch. According to the Nintendo eShop, it should run just fine on the Switch 2 as well.
Two Point Museum

The beloved museum management sim, Two Point Museum, is finally coming to Nintendo’s handheld! After years of fan requests to see it on the OG Switch, the game is getting a shiny new Switch 2 edition on October 28th. It won’t be available on the Switch due to hardware constraints, but the Switch 2 is up to the task of running this cozy gaming delight.
Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD Remake

The HD remake of the first two Dragon Quest games is headed our way on October 30th. This stunning new edition of the beloved Square Enix games will have both a Switch and a Switch 2 edition at launch.
Majogami

Craft Witch Shiroha travels through a world of paper in Majogami, a 2D action platformer from Inti Creates. This game will arrive on the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 30th.
Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection

This massive collection of classic Mortal Kombat games is almost here. It brings together all of the essential, foundational Mortal Kombat games in one place, along with behind-the-scenes documentary footage and more. It will release for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 30th.
Mina the Hollower

If you need some 8-bit cuteness in your life, Mina the Hollower will deliver. This action-adventure game comes from the creators behind Shovel Knight, and it will release for the Switch and Switch 2 on October 31st.
Tales of Xillia Remastered

The former PS3 exclusive JRPG is getting a brand new remaster, headed to multiple platforms. This game is part of the extensive Tales Of series and remains one of the best-selling games in the franchise. The remaster introduces enhanced graphics and quality-of-life updates and will arrive on the Nintendo Switch on October 31st.
Terminator 2D: No Fate

This 2D pixel art game brings the events of Terminator 2: Judgement Day to life in a new way. The game combines scenes from the movie with new scenarios, and it’s coming to the Nintendo Switch on October 31st. It is confirmed as supported for the Switch 2, according to the Nintendo website.
